Configuring Windows Live Mail for SSL IMAP / SMTP

To configure Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 for SSL IMAP and SMTP access with Neomailbox, follow these steps:

  1. Start Windows Live Mail by clicking on the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen, selecting "All Programs" and then "Windows Live Mail". (If you don't see Windows Live Mail listed under All Programs, you may need to download and install it, from Microsoft's website).

  2. Click on the menu icon at the top left of the Windows Live Mail screen, and select "Options" and then "Email Accounts":

  3. On the Accounts screen dialog box, click the "Add" button:

  4. Select "Email account" and click "Next":

  5. Type in your Neomailbox email address, password and name in the fields in the dialog box. If your account is hosted in Switzerland, your email address is your_username@neomailbox.net, not your_username@neomailbox.com, so be sure to put in the correct address. Then click "Next":

  6. On the "Configure Server Settings" dialog, set the server names, ports and SSL options as below. Remember, if your account is hosted in Switzerland, put in neomailbox.net and not neomailbox.com as the server name for both Incoming Server Information and Outgoing Server Information. Also, be sure to type your Neomailbox username in all lower-case letters. Double-check all the settings against the screenshot below, and click "Next":

  7. You should now see a message saying "Your email account was added". Click "Finish":

  8. You should now see the newly configured Neomailbox account listed in the "Accounts" dialog box. Click "Close".

  9. That's it. You should be able to send and receive mail now.
